GHMI Text Messaging Opt-In Policy

Global Harvest Ministries International (“GHMI”) offers optional text messages to supporters and class participants.

You may subscribe to either or both of these categories:

  • Ministry and donor messages: Ministry news, project updates, prayer requests, fundraising appeals, giving opportunities, donor appreciation, and invitations to GHMI events and activities.

  • Class messages: Notes, teaching resources, links, reminders, schedule changes, and other information about classes or teaching programs you select or attend.

Messages may include links to resources, registration pages, or donation pages. Messages may be sent individually or through automated systems.

Your choice

GHMI obtains your express consent before enrolling you in recurring text messages. Providing a phone number, making a donation, registering for a class, or subscribing to email does not by itself subscribe you to recurring texts.

You may select either category or both. GHMI sends messages only within the categories you authorize.

Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of donating, purchasing, registering for a class, or receiving GHMI services. Class participants who do not subscribe to texts may contact GHMI to arrange another way to receive class materials.

Message frequency varies according to ministry activities and your selected classes. Message and data rates may apply.

Changing your choice

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from all GHMI text messages sent through this program. For assistance or to change your category preferences, reply HELP or email office@ghmi.ca.

GHMI keeps records of consent and unsubscribe requests. If you unsubscribe, GHMI will not resume recurring texts unless you provide fresh consent.

GHMI SMS Privacy Policy

Global Harvest Ministries International (“GHMI,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information associated with our text messaging program.

Information we collect

We collect the mobile number you provide, your selected message categories, and any name or class information you submit. We also maintain consent records, subscription changes, unsubscribe requests, messages exchanged with us, and available delivery information.

Our sign-up and messaging systems may record technical information, such as submission timestamps and IP addresses, to operate the service, prevent misuse, and document consent.

How we use information

We use this information to:

  • Send the categories of messages you request.

  • Deliver class resources and respond to questions.

  • Manage subscriptions and respect communication preferences.

  • Maintain consent records, protect the service, and meet applicable legal obligations.

We will obtain additional consent before using your information for a materially different purpose where required.

Service providers and information sharing

GHMI uses Twilio and may use other contracted service providers to operate forms, securely store records, deliver messages, and provide technical support. These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for GHMI, subject to applicable agreements and legal requirements.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your consent applies to GHMI and does not authorize another organization to contact you.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.

We may disclose information when required by law. Nothing in this policy authorizes the sale or transfer of SMS consent.

Storage and protection

Information may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and limit access to people who need information for their work. No electronic communication or storage system is completely secure.

We retain information only as reasonably necessary to operate the program, document consent, respect unsubscribe requests, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. We may retain a minimal suppression record after you unsubscribe to prevent further unwanted messages.

Your choices

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from GHMI texts. You may also contact us to request access to or correction of your information, withdraw consent, or request deletion, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements.

Please do not send payment-card details or other sensitive personal information by text. External websites linked in our messages have their own privacy practices.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy by posting a revised version and effective date. A policy update does not expand the subjects you have consented to receive.

Program and consent

Global Harvest Ministries International (“GHMI”) offers optional recurring text messages to Canadian mobile numbers.

Depending on your selections, messages may include:

  • Ministry news, project updates, prayer requests, fundraising appeals, giving opportunities, donor appreciation, and event invitations.

  • Class notes, teaching resources, links, reminders, schedule changes, and related class information.

By expressly opting in, you authorize GHMI to send the selected categories of messages to the mobile number you provide, including through automated technology.

You confirm that you are the subscriber or customary authorized user of that number and are authorized to provide consent. Please notify GHMI if you change or give up your number.

Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of donating, purchasing, registering for a class, or receiving GHMI services.

Frequency and charges

Message frequency varies based on ministry activities, your preferences, and your selected classes. GHMI does not charge a subscription fee for texts. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. Contact your wireless provider with questions about those charges.

Unsubscribing

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from all GHMI text messages through this program. You may receive one final confirmation of your unsubscribe request.

You may also request that messages stop by contacting office@ghmi.ca. GHMI will honour clear withdrawal requests received through other reasonable means.

Recurring messages will not resume unless you provide fresh consent.

To change which categories you receive, contact GHMI. A STOP request unsubscribes you from the whole texting program.

Delivery and availability

Message delivery depends on wireless coverage, your device, carrier support, and service availability. Delivery may be delayed or unsuccessful. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Text messaging is not an emergency service. Contact GHMI directly if you need to confirm time-sensitive class information.

GHMI may change, suspend, or discontinue the program. Changes to these terms do not authorize messages outside your existing consent. Where required, GHMI will obtain new consent before expanding the scope of messages.

Privacy and your rights

Our SMS Privacy Policy explains how we handle information associated with this program.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
